Job Opening: Office & Project Manager

Work Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week, 9am-5pm
Salary: $40,000-$50,000 annually DOE, benefits eligible

Organizational Overview
Shelter the Homeless, Inc. (STH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that has three primary purposes: 1) to hold land and facilities for the benefit of individuals who are or may be experiencing, or who have in the past experienced, homelessness; 2) to select and monitor providers of services for such individuals; and 3) to foster accountability for public safety in relation to homeless services and for the integration of homeless service facilities into the neighborhoods in which they exist. In addition, STH provides backbone support to the Collective Impact on Homelessness Steering Committee.

Position Summary
STH is seeking an energetic, friendly, organized, self-starter to undertake a variety of day-to-day administration support duties and manage projects under the direction of the Executive Director.

Qualifications
• Proven working experience as an office manager or in a similar role.
• Keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping principles and office management systems and procedures.
• Friendly and comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, board members, government officials, community groups, and other related agencies and people.
• A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work with limited supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Dropbox, Joomla! a plus.
• Proficiency in English language.
• Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality.

Responsibilities
• Executive Support: assists the Executive Director in providing office and administrative support, managing information flow, screens incoming correspondence, calls, email and responds independently as appropriate, greets guests, coordinates and arranges meetings and conference calls, maintain office space, update website, and record minutes from board of directors’ meetings.
• Finance & Donor Support: processing of donations/gifts and acknowledgements, bank deposits, preparing payroll, recordkeeping, assist in organizing and preparing documents, and perform other support tasks as needed.
• Office Support: oversee day-to-day administration tasks such as processing mail, assist in vendor relationship management, monitor office supplies inventory and place orders, filing, etc.

Working Conditions
• Ability to stand or sit while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time.
• Ability to view data on a computer screen and or/or paper for extended periods of time.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
