Josie White serves as Philanthropic Officer at Shelter the Homeless, where she leads private fundraising strategy and advances long-term sustainability initiatives to support Salt Lake County’s homeless services system. With eight years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Josie oversees philanthropic partnerships across individual, foundation, and corporate donors to ensure the stability and strength of critical shelter infrastructure.
In addition to her role at Shelter the Homeless, Josie was appointed by Governor Spencer Cox to serve on the Utah Behavioral Health Commission, where she contributes to statewide strategy and policy discussions related to mental health and substance use. She also serves as the Government Relations and Advocacy Chair and Board Member for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Utah Chapter. Josie trains nonprofit professionals locally and nationally on fundraising best practices and mental health advocacy.
Josie holds a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Management & Philanthropy from Bay Path University and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She has been a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals for seven years. She is committed to advancing ethical, strategic, and impactful fundraising practices that strengthen communities and expand opportunity for those most in need.
