Kris J. Mecham

Kris J. Mecham was born and raised in Blackfoot, Idaho. He graduated from Idaho State University, earning a degree in business administration and finance, with a minor in accounting. From 1976 to 1983, Kris worked as manager trainee-director of operations for the Atomic Workers Credit Union, after which he became the assistant general manager for Idaho Central Credit Union. Beginning in 1987, Kris served as the president and CEO of the Idaho Credit Union League Services Corporation until he accepted the position of president and CEO of Deseret First Federal Credit Union and Deseret First Financial Services in 1991.

For nearly 20 years, Kris played a key role in the growth and expansion of Deseret First, in addition to chairing the Credit Union National Association and heading several boards and committees. Kris and his wife, Stephanie, were called by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to preside over the Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Mission in 2010 and the Montana Billings Mission in 2012. Kris now works as the area welfare manager over Utah for the LDS Church. He and his wife have five children and live in Draper, Utah.
