Dustin Gettel

Midvale City Mayor

Dustin Gettel was first elected to the Midvale City Council in 2017 and began
serving as Mayor in December 2024. Originally from Pennsylvania, Dustin’s
background spans both rural and suburban communities before he made Midvale
his home in 2015. Dustin earned his law degree from Delaware Law School in
2009 and has been a dedicated public health analyst with the Utah Department of
Health and Human Services since 2016. As an elected official, Dustin has focused
on issues surrounding homelessness, fostering safer and more walkable
neighborhoods, and creating more deeply affordable housing units throughout the
city. When he’s not working in his various public capacities, Mayor Gettel can
often be found on the Jordan River Trail walking Link, his spirited Miniature
Schnauzer, and Nova, his lovable yet mischievous Shih Tzu rescue pup.
